Frozen pumpkin yogurt bites are an easily seasonal snack perfect for kids and adults too for fall or Halloween. This recipe is simple enough for an afterschool snack, great to get kids cooking in the kitchen and tasty for toddlers and picky eaters!

Frozen Pumpkin Pie Yogurt Snack Bites Recipe
Feeling pretty warm outside and still want a little healthy pumpkin snack recipe in your life? Me too.
As I type this, it’s still over 90 degrees around here. While we moved to the desert so I expect it to be warm here in Arizona… it was also getting warmer and warmer in fall in Ohio when we were there too.
So I started thinking about how we weren’t quite done with cold treats like homemade popsicles… but sometimes we want a smaller sweet snack.
If you have a picky eater? This easy pumpkin yogurt recipe is a fast way to start introducing kids to pumpkin flavor.
I’d recommend making some with the pumpkin and some with just yogurt like we did with these yogurt hearts so you can do a little flavor mix and matching.
How Do I Get The Pumpkin And Yogurt In The Mold?
Don’t be surprised if they look a little messy in the mold until you freeze them! The slightly messier way is to use a small spoon to add first the pumpkin filling, then the yogurt to the molds.
If you are making this snack with kids or just want to keep things extra neat I recommend adding your mixture to a small Ziploc bag. Cut off the corner of the bag, then squeeze the filling into the molds. Easy peasy!
What Kind Of Mold Did You Use To Make This Frozen Pumpkin Yogurt Recipe
I picked up this fun silicone Halloween mold set that includes a couple of different shapes. You can use any small bite-sized mold. A silicone mold works great because the bites pop out easily after freezing.
Can Babies Eat Pumpkin?
Babies can begin to eat pumpkin as early as about six months old. It’s packed full of vitamins and great food for kids of all ages.
Can You Make These Pumpkin Yogurt Snack Unsweetened?
This snack can be left unsweetened (especially for babies). Whether your yogurt is vanilla flavored or plain, I would taste the mixture before freezing to see if it needs to be sweetened to your own tastes.
This snack is also delicious sweetened with a little maple syrup as an alternative to honey.
For babies younger then one it is strongly recommended not to use honey as a sweetener according to the CDC.
Frozen Pumpkin Yogurt Bites Snack
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup pumpkin puree fresh or canned
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 vanilla yogurt A 5.3 ounces size works great, but a little less or more is ok
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup more or less to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl place pumpkin puree, cinnamon, vanilla and honey. Mix well with a spoon or spatula.
- Add the yogurt to silicone pumpkin mold, filling each bite halfway.
- Then add sweetened pumpkin mixture to fill each silicone mold spot. It looks a little messy!
- Freeze for one to two hours or until frozen solid. Pop-out the bites from the silicone mold and enjoy!
Notes
- Once filling the mold, swirl with a toothpick for a fun fancier look! Makes 12-15 bites depending on the size of your mold.
- To give it even more of a pumpkin pie flavor, try adding half a teaspoon of nutmeg along with using the maple syrup for the sweetener. This combo was thumbs up for me and my husband, but the kid preferred the combo originally listed in this recipe.

Mine came out icy and grainy, is there a way to fix that and make them creamier? I used full fat yogurt.
Hi there, Different brands of yogurt have different amounts of water in them. That will affect the final results, as the water is what causing ice crystals to form. Try a full fat greek yogurt or even a strained Icelandic style yogurt for a creamier result, as those types of yogurt tend to have less water. Adding a little bit more sugar can also sometimes keep ice crystals from forming, one of several reasons ice cream is so creamy. Hope that helps! -Kristy
