Why We Love Peach Dump Cake
- Easy To Make– Peach cobbler dump cake is called dump cake because you literally dump in most of the ingredients into the baking dish. This simple peach cobbler recipe comes together fast and is the perfect dessert to make last minute and is one of my favorite peach desserts.
- Warm, Gooey Peaches– These peaches get warm and gooey and are oh so delicious, and the buttery cake on top makes for an easy crumble on top of the peach fruit filling. Cake mix cobbler is a delicious dessert that is perfect for the whole family.
- Pantry And Fridge Staples – Making this cake mix peach cobbler uses no special ingredients, most of which can be stored in the pantry like canned peaches and are shelf stable to have on hand.

- Bake for 50-55 minutes until the cake is lightly browned on top and bubbly around the edges. Let cool for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy- the best part!
Variation Ideas
- Vanilla Ice Cream– A scoop of vanilla ice cream or peach ice cream, or butter pecan is delicious with this dish.
- Top With Whipped Cream – A pretty dollop of whipped cream looks beautiful swirled on top of this cake on the plate. You can also use a dollop of whipped topping, like Cool Whip, and it is also delicious.
- Swap The Cake Mix– We’ve used a yellow cake mix, but you can use a different cake mix such as a spice cake mix, white cake mix or a vanilla cake mix and this dessert will still be delicious.
Can I Use Fresh Peaches In This Dump Cake?
You can use fresh peaches with this dump cake, but you need to also mix them with about 1/2 cup of sugar before adding them to the pan. The sugar will create a syrup similar to the heavy syrup or light syrup used in the canned peaches. That extra sugar will make the cake have enough moisture when you use fresh fruit so the it isn’t too dry. This recipe is perfect for peach season!
You’ll also need about 2-3 large peaches sliced with the pit removed per can of peaches, so about 7-9 fresh large peaches total. I recommend peeling the peaches before adding them to the dump cake, but that is a personal preference.
Can I Use Frozen Peaches In This Dump Cake
Yes, you can use frozen peaches in this dump cake. To swap frozen peaches you will need about 2 to 2 1/2 cups of thawed frozen peaches for each can, and to toss them with 1/2 cup of sugar. The sugar will create a syrup that will make the cake work better.
I have only made this recipe with frozen peaches by thawing it on the counter first, I have not tried it using frozen peaches without thawing. You would likely need to adjust the total cook time if you use frozen peaches without thawing, but you do need to still add the extra sugar. While I haven’t tried it, I would think it would work to use frozen peaches without thawing them.
How Long Will Peach Dump Cake Last?
Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container. This cake will taste freshest for about 4-5 days. You can also freeze this cake in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
You can reheat leftovers of this easy apple dump cake easily in the microwave or oven, but it is also delicious when served cold.
