If I set a tray of these cheeseburger sliders on the table, they disappear fast. They’ve got all the classic burger flavor in soft, cheesy sliders and are perfect for feeding hungry kids, game day crowds, or an easy weeknight dinner.

Why We Love Cheeseburger Sliders
- Easy dinner that feels fun – These cheeseburger sliders come together fast but feel a little more fun than regular burgers, which makes them perfect for busy weeknights or when kids have friends over.
- Great for feeding a crowd – Whether it’s game day, a party, or a family movie night, you can set out a tray and let everyone grab one (or three).
- Kid and adult approved – They’ve got all the classic cheeseburger flavor in a soft, cheesy, pull-apart slider that disappears fast every time I make them.
Kristy’s Picky Eater Tip
This is one of those “everyone wins” dinners because kids can add their own toppings, and most already love Hawaiian rolls so it feels familiar. Set out lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce and let everyone build their own. Picky eaters keep it simple, everyone else piles it on.
Ingredients For Cheeseburger Sliders

Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements and directions below in the recipe card.
- olive oil
- onion – dice it small, this just adds some flavor.
- ground beef – I used 80/20 but you can use your favorite or even use ground turkey. Drain any additional grease well from the meat.
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- paprika
- salt
- water
- black pepper
- Hawaiian rolls – these make the perfect bite sized sliders.
- cheddar – or American cheese slices, you can also use another flavor of sliced cheese like Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or provolone.
- shredded cheddar cheese – this makes the burgers extra gooey and helps hold the loose meat together on the buns. You can swap another flavor of shredded cheese out if you prefer.
- butter
- sesame seeds – optional but give it a classic burger feel.
How To Make Cheeseburger Sliders
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
- Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened and starting to brown, about 3 minutes. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until no longer pink, 7-10 minutes. Drain fat from the meat and return meat to the pan.

- Add garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and water. Stir and cook until the water is cooked off and the seasoning is thoroughly mixed.
- Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Layer slices of cheddar cheese over the bottom of rolls. Adding cheese to the bottom layer helps keep the buns from getting soggy. Evenly add the ground beef over top of the sliced cheese. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the ground beef.

- Place roll tops on top and brush tops with melted butter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15-16 minutes. The tops will begin to lightly brown and the cheese will melt when ready. Then serve and enjoy!

Cheeseburger Slider Variation Ideas
Serve With The “Fixins” – Set out lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce or burger sauce and let everyone build their own. This is an easy way to keep picky eaters happy and still give everyone options. We also really like to add guacamole, yum!
Add Bacon – Sliced bacon quickly switches these to bacon cheeseburger sliders, and there won’t be complaints!
Try A Dash of Worcestershire Sauce – I don’t always keep it in the house, but Worcestershire sauce gives a great savory flavor to ground beef. Add a teaspoon or two to the ground beef while browning it to add flavor.

What To Serve With Cheeseburger Sliders
Make a full meal of these sliders! Try it with a side of crispy potato wedges or my roasted baby potatoes. The quick honey mustard carrots or roasted honey garlic baby carrots also make a great quick side dish. You can also serve these with regular chips or tater tots; it doesn’t have to be fancy.
If you are serving these cheeseburger sliders to a crowd, adding a second flavor of slider can be a great way to offer a choice! Try my sloppy joe sliders, pizza sliders, slow cooker BBQ chicken sliders, chicken bacon ranch sliders, or ham and cheese sliders as a second option.
If you’re serving a tailgating style spread, try adding a side of my crock pot cheesy Rotel dip, cold veggie pizza or some crispy garlic parmesan chicken wings.
Cheeseburger Slider FAQs
Yes! You can make these cheeseburger sliders ahead of time up to 24 hours in advance. Cook the meat, assemble the sliders, and then cover the pan and put the whole pan in the refrigerator. It can also be helpful to add the butter right before heating, so the bun doesn’t get soggy.
When you are ready to enjoy your sliders, bake them in the oven at 350 degrees. Because the meat is cold it may take closer to 15-20 minutes to heat all the way through, just watch them carefully.
These sliders also reheat really well!
Microwave them for 30 seconds with the top off, then add the top and heat for an additional 30 seconds.
Air Fry them at 350 degrees individually or a few at a time for 3-5 minutes or until warmed through.
Bake them in the oven at 350 for 10-17 minutes or until warm all the way through. Reheating one or two sliders is usually a little faster than a whole plate.
How Long Will Cheeseburger Sliders Last?
Expect these cheeseburger sliders to last for about three days if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
