What To Dip In Pepperoni Dip
Pepperoni dip can be served with all kinds of yummy dippers to make your perfect appetizer. Food that is crunchy or are at least thicker and sturdy like a chewy piece of bread work best to hold up to the hot cheesy dip. Here are a few ideas.
- crackers – firmer crackers will work better than a cracker that crumbles easily that may fall apart in the gooey cheese
- bread – pick a bread that is thick and chew, then cut into slices or large cubes. Baguette slices and sourdough bread both work well.
- breadsticks – similar to bread but the perfect shape already for dipping! You could also use garlic knots.
- tortilla chips – thicker chips tend to work best
- pretzels – especially waffle or large flat pretzels, cut up pretzel rolls also works
- bell pepper cut into thick strips, or the mini bell peppers also work great
- baby carrots or carrot sticks
- bagel chips – or fresh bagels cut into smaller pieces can also work
- pita chips or pita bread
Can I Customize The Toppings Other Than Pepperoni Slices?
We’ve made this a pepperoni dip but you can use your favorite pizza toppings to top of the cheese before baking. I recommend dicing any toppings you add on top so it doesn’t overpower the melty cheese in the dip.
Here are some toppings that can be added with pepperoni or instead of pepperoni. Make your dip a meat-lovers dip or a supreme pizza dip recipe!
- Bell pepper
- Onion
- Mushrooms
- Black olives
- Tomatoes
- Pineapple – drain well so the dip doesn’t become watery
- Italian sausage
- Salami
- Ham
- Bacon
- Chicken
- Red pepper flakes – adds a little heat!
Can I Make This Pepperoni Dip Ahead Of Time?
You can prep this pepperoni dip up to 24 hours in advance. I don’t recommend baking the dip until you are ready to eat it, as it tastes best fresh out of the oven. Cover the dip in the refrigerator after prepping.
If you are baking dip that you prepped the night before, expect the dip may take 5-10m minutes more to warm up in the oven. The pan will be chilled instead of room temperature to start.
How Long Will Pepperoni Dip Last?
Expect pepperoni dip will last for four to five days in the refrigerator once baked. Store leftover dip in a covered airtight container in the refrigerator. I highly recommend warming it up again before enjoying the leftovers.
