First day of school teacher gifts are a quick way to start the year off fresh and let teachers know you appreciate the work they do right from the start. This super easy DIY dry erase marker gift is a great way to say thanks (even if it’s the night before!). It would be a great easy gift from a principal too! Help start back to school with a teacher gift that gets the year started off on the right foot.

I like to try to think of small ways to connect with my kid’s teacher early on in the year. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture, just something small to say thanks.

I’ve done this in the past with school supplies by sending in a few extras. Nothing crazy, but if they ask for a box of tissues I’ll try to send a bigger pack. Or if they ask for glue I’ll purposely buy the container with extra-wide glue sticks like this one. We are fortunate that our family is able to usually give a little extra.

I’ve also been known to send snacks to school to help out. Teachers work hard and need our support.

Small gestures add up, and teachers need supplies to teach for themselves too. Most of the boards seem to be dry erase or touch screen these days, and a teacher can never have too many dry erase markers at the beginning of back to school.

You only need a few simple supplies to make this thoughtful gift. Some dry erase markers, the free printable, some string and a hole punch!
