How To Make Halloween Punch

  1. Using an ice cream scoop, add a large scoop of vanilla ice cream to each glass.

  1. Pour the Hawaiian punch into the glass, a little more than a cup works great.

  1. After the ice cream rises to the top of the glass add gummy worms. I recommend placing the gummy worms over the edges of the glass or floating them on top of the ice cream so they don’t sink to the bottom immediately. Serve right away and enjoy!

Variation Ideas

Go Crazy With Toppings – I’ve used gummy worms, but any kinds of gummy bugs will make this recipe a little more spooky, though watch the weight of the candy so they don’t immediately sink to the bottom of the glass. I’ve also seen gummy body parts including gummy eyeballs which are fun! You can also add fun sprinkles.

Use A Different Punch – I like the green Hawaiian punch just because it’s such a fun green color. But you can swap in any green colored juice you prefer. You can also use an orange soda if you prefer, I like to mix it with a lemon lime soda, and you’ll equally have a fun Halloween drink.

Tips For Serving This Halloween Punch To A Crowd

Serve In A Punch Bowl Or Pitcher – You can serve this in a classic punch bowl for a party, or place the juice in a large pitcher. You can add the ice cream right in and let everyone scoop, which is the classic way to serve a punch like this. I find people get a little less ice cream this way, but it can be great if you need self serve, and still delicious.

Scoop The Ice Cream Ahead Of Time – You can scoop the ice cream into a muffin tin ahead of time and just place it in the freezer until you are ready to serve. This works really great for like a sleepover or a movie night where you have a few more kids.

Use Individually Portioned Ice Creams – Another option is to pick up the little individually portioned ice cream containers. Remember the ones with the little wooden spoons, they are sometimes called party cups? Let them defrost for a few minutes, and use a big metal spoon to scoop them out of the ice cream cups and into the punch cups fast.

You could also use a vanilla ice cream on a stick, usually no one minds if it’s a chocolate coated ice cream. Even better, sometimes their are fun seasonal ice creams that look great too. I don’t recommend using pumpkin ice cream, the flavors don’t go well with the green punch!

Let Everyone Add Their Own Toppings – I usually just throw a few gummies on top, too many and they sink. If you’re adding other toppings like sprinkles though or other kind of gummy candy it can be fun to let the kids pick out a few. Though sometimes they go a little wild with the candy, so know your crowd!

How Can I Make This Punch More Green?

Yes a little bit of food coloring can make it more green. I find that the Hawaiian Punch is pretty green, but if you are using one of the green water flavor packets or another juice you can make it more green with food coloring.

Can I Make This Punch Without Dairy?

Yes, I recommend using a dairy free lime sherbert if you want the punch to be non-dairy. I would check the labels carefully though as some brands do contain dairy. Any dairy free vanilla ice cream can work. If someone has an allergy I recommend asking them for their favorite ice cream brand if possible to make sure they can participate.

How Long Will Halloween Punch Last?

Because the ice cream melts, it’s best to enjoy this Halloween punch right away.

This easy Halloween punch is the perfect spooky drink for any Halloween party. Fun for kids and adults, this drink only needs 3 ingredients! You can easily make just a few fun drinks or make a batch for a party.

Ingredients

  • 48 ounces vanilla ice cream
  • 1 gallon green berry rush Hawaiian Punch or other green juice drink
  • 10 ounces gummy worms 8-12 ounces is about the right amount for a whole pitcher

Instructions

  • Using an ice cream scoop, add a large scoop of vanilla ice cream to each glass.
  • Pour the Hawaiian punch into the glass, a little more than a cup works great.
  • After the ice cream rises to the top of the glass add gummy worms. I recommend placing the gummy worms over the edges of the glass or floating them on top of the ice cream so they don't sink to the bottom immediately. Serve right away and enjoy!

Notes

You can also add the punch and ice cream to a giant punch bowl or pitcher. Then add the gummy worms on the side and allow guests to add them themselves.
I recommend chilling the punch before adding it to the ice cream. This allows the ice cream to stay solid a little longer. Ice cubes can also be added to help keep the drink colder. Try freezing some gummy worms or gummy bugs in the ice cubes for an extra touch of fun!
