These chicken parmesan sliders are loaded with all the cheesy, saucy flavors of chicken parm on a soft Hawaiian roll. Cook the nuggets, layer everything up, and pop them in the oven for a dinner the whole family will be asking for again.
Ingredients
16ouncesfrozen chicken nuggets see notes
12ouncesHawaiian rolls1 pack of 12 rolls
1cupmozzarella cheeseshredded
1 ½cupsmarinara sauce
1teaspoonItalian seasoning
6slicesprovolone cheese
2tablespoonsbuttermelted
¼teaspoongarlic salt
2tablespoonsparmesan cheese grated like the Kraft
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350. Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
Cook the chicken nuggets according to the package directions in the oven or the air fryer, flipping halfway through. I like to add 2-3 minutes to whatever the package says to make sure the chicken is a little extra crispy when I add the sauce.
16 ounces frozen chicken nuggets
Slice the Hawaiian roll horizontally into a large slice of tops and bottoms, setting the tops to the side. Place the bottom half on the sheet pan. Add the mozzarella cheese to the bottom half of the rolls. Adding cheese to the bottom layer helps keep the buns from getting soggy.
12 ounces Hawaiian rolls, 1 cup mozzarella cheese
Place the cooked chicken nuggets over the cheese. I aimed for two nuggets per roll. Mix the Italian seasoning into the marinara, then pour the marinara sauce over the chicken as evenly as possible. Place a layer of provolone cheese over the chicken.
1 ½ cups marinara sauce, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 6 slices provolone cheese
Place the tops of the Hawaiian rolls on top of the sliders. Mix the garlic salt into the melted butter. With a silicone brush, generously brush the butter mixture over top of the buns. Sprinkle generously with parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil. Bake the sliders for 15-20 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and warm. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for five minutes. The tops will begin to lightly brown and the cheese will be melted when ready. Then serve and enjoy!
You can also finish the sliders in the air fryer in batches. Place the sliders in a single layer in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 5-6 minutes or until warm and gooey. When using the air fryer, you will likely have to work in batches to heat all twelve sandwiches.
Notes
I used Just Bare chicken bites (my personal favorite,) and used about 2 pieces per slider, or 24 pieces total. You can use whatever brand chicken nuggets you love, you just need enough chicken per bun.You can use chicken tenders, but I recommend chopping them up after cooking the chicken but before adding them to the buns to make it easier to serve the sliders.
