¾cupbuttersoftened
½cupwhite sugar
3/4cupbrown sugar
1largeegg
1teaspoonvanilla extract
2 1/4cupsall purpose flour
½teaspoonbaking soda
½teaspoonbaking powder
½teaspoonsalt
1/2cupchocolate chips
1cupM&M’s Red White And Blue
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly oil the pan.
Add butter, brown sugar and white sugar together in a large mixing bowl. With an electric mixer cream together butter and sugar on medium until fluffy.
¾ cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, ½ cup white sugar
Crack egg and add vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix the ingredients well until combined.
1 large egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a medium mixing bowl add flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix the dry ingredients until combined.
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt
Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix well on first a low setting then a medium setting until the dry ingredients are fully mixed into the wet ingredients and a dough forms.
Stop the mixer and add in the chocolate chips and M&M’s to the dough. Gently mix on low. You can also do this step with a silicone spatula. Mixing the dough on medium or high can cause the M&Ms sometimes to crack.
1/2 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup M&M’s
Scoop the dough with a cookie scoop onto a cookie sheet, about 2 tablespoons of dough at a time. Press a couple extra M&M’s into the top of each dough to decorate the cookies.
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the cookies just begin to brown around the edges but are still a little gooey in the middle. Cool on a cooling rack, then enjoy.
