Chocolate dirt cake is one of those desserts that gets everyone at the table excited. Crushed Oreos on the bottom and top, a creamy chocolate pudding filling in the middle, and gummy worms sticking out on top if you want to take it over the top. The kids will go crazy for this one!

In a medium bowl, add all of the instant chocolate pudding and milk. Mix until fully combined, then set to the side.
7.8 ounces instant chocolate pudding, 3 cups milk
In a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer, add softened cream cheese and softened butter and mix until fully combined. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, then mix until well combined. Add the pudding mixture and mix until fully combined and smooth.
8 ounces cream cheese, ½ cup butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 12 ounces. whipped topping
With a silicone spatula, fold in the whipped topping into the pudding mixture until just smooth.
Place large spoonfuls of the pudding mixture over the crushed cookies in the pan. Carefully spread it into an even layer, then sprinkle the remaining cookie crumbs over the top.

Notes
You can also use a family sized package of regular Oreos, about 18 ounces, or a storebrand cookie. For regular size Oreos (not double stuffed) you need about 44-45 cookies. The number of cookies does not need to be perfectly exact in this recipe since it's no bake, you just need enough to make a crust and sprinkle some on top.If you want to be able to slice this cake into clean rectangular pieces, place it in the freezer for at least two hours instead of the fridge to help the dessert set up firmer. Otherwise the dirt cake will likely scoop instead of slice as easily.
