Ingredients
¾CupButter
½CupWhite Sugar
½CupBrown Sugar
1Egg
1tspVanilla
2CupsAll Purpose Flour
½TeaspoonBaking Soda
½TeaspoonBaking Powder
½TeaspoonSalt
1/2CupMini Chocolate Chips
1CupRed White & Blue M&M’s Plus a few extras to decorate the cookies
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar to a mixer or large bowl. Cream together for 2-3 minutes until full mixed.
Add into the bowl egg and vanilla. Mix another minute until well mixed.
In a medium size mixing bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients well.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix well until a dough forms.
Stop the mixer and add in the chocolate chips and M&M’s to the dough. Gently mix on low. You can also do this step with a silicone spatula. Mixing the dough on medium or high can cause the M&Ms sometimes to crack.
Scoop the dough with a cookie scoop onto a cookie sheet, about 2 tablespoons of dough at a time. Press a couple extra M&M’s into the top of each dough to decorate the cookies.
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Cool on a cooling rack or clean kitchen towel.
Notes
This recipe makes larger cookies. You could also make a smaller size cookie and make 18 cookies from this recipe. Adjust your baking time to 10-12 minutes if making smaller cookies.
