Notes
Let the sausage naturally release for 5 minutes before you push the lever to let the pressure out. This helps keep your sausage juicy. Pushing the quick release lever too soon will also quickly remove moisture from the pressure cooker and can cause meats to become dry.All pressure cookers do take time to come to pressure, usually about five minutes. Expect this dish will take you 5-7 minutes to brown, 5 minutes to come to pressure, 14 minutes to cook the sausage and 5 minutes to naturally release. The amount of time it takes for your pressure cooker to come to temperature can vary by a few minutes, but this recipe should take around 30-35 minutes from start to finish. One of the best perks of cooking sausage in the instant pot is the easy cleanup. The drippings and grease all stay right in the pot with no splattering, and it's much less messy than cooking them on the stovetop.
