This easy homemade applesauce only uses three ingredients, is simple to make, and is delicious as a side dish!
Ingredients
4largeapplespeeled, cored and diced, I used McIntosh
½cupapple juice
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
½teaspooncinnamonground, optional
Instructions
Peel and core apples. Chop apples into one-inch pieces.
Combine apples, apple juice and sugar into a medium saucepan. Turn the heat to high and bring the liquid to a boil.
Cover the pan and reduce to medium-low heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the apples are soft.
Allow the mixture to cool. Transfer the apple mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture until smooth. Add cinnamon if desired, then enjoy!

Blending Applesauce Tips
You can use an immersion blender to blend applesauce right in the pan if you have one.For a chunkier applesauce, use a potato masher to mash the applesauce.
Storage and Freezing Tip
Store applesauce in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week. You can freeze applesauce in an airtight container, like a freezer zip-top bag, for up to 6 months.This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups of applesauce, but it can easily be doubled or tripled.
